Bixels - Baked Potato

I have been stagnating on the “new places to eat front” lately. I keep ending up at my local Vietnamese fast food joint, Xinh Xinh. Today I ventured slightly further afield and stumbled upon a great street, Mulackstrasse - which was full of really hip, albeit expensive, designer clothes shops and this quirky black number. No, not a dress - a baked potato joint named Bixels. With black walls, black lamps, a young couple behind the counter dressing the potatoes.
The place had a good vibe. It made me think of New York: where there is a store specializing in just about everything (fries, pickles, rice pudding…)
Bixels menu was made up of 5 baked potatoes with various stuffings. I had the one with tuna, olives and some green sauce, I forget what. It was fluffy and filling and oozed butter (which is a good thing, in my baked potato book!). I think it would be great if they had a classic spud, you know; baked beans, cheddar cheese and sour cream - maybe some chives.
I enjoyed the womb like black interior. I imagine this place will rock in the winter when it’s cold outside and you want somewhere warm, with cool music - where you can have a boat sized potato with fillings tumbling out of the top!

Any kind of baked potato oozing butter sounds pretty fabulous to me too.

I discovered this place in the autumn. The potatoes are amazing! It’s easy to forget how good a properly cooked baked potato is. Took me back to my teenage years where I would have one for lunch every day at my Saturday job…
